Who is Barefaced Rx for?
U.S. adults (18+) who want prescription-grade topical treatment for acne, redness, pigmentation, aging, menopause-related skin changes, or eye-area concerns - without an in-person dermatology visit.
Do I need to know which treatment to pick?
No. Start with the closest treatment category. Help Me Decide uses your pre-checkout answers to recommend the closest formula, and your clinician may adjust the medication or strength within that same category after reviewing your completed intake.
How long does intake take?
About five minutes. You can upload photos if you'd like, but it's optional.
Is intake free?
Yes. There's no cost to complete intake or to see what a provider would recommend.

Who reviews my intake?
An automated matching tool may suggest an initial formula. A clinician licensed in your state reviews your intake and makes the final treatment decision.
Can I message my provider after I start?
Yes. Your patient portal includes secure messaging - you can ask follow-up questions, share photos, or request an adjustment to your formula at any time.
What if a provider decides Barefaced Rx isn't right for me?
They'll tell you, explain why, and where appropriate, point you toward what would be a better fit (in-person dermatology, primary care, a different category).
Formulas & safety
Are these the same actives as in over-the-counter products?
Often related, but at prescription strengths and in combinations that aren't sold OTC. Your clinician also considers your skin's history, not just what's on the shelf.
What if I get irritation or my skin reacts?
Message your provider through the portal. Most reactions can be resolved with a formula adjustment, a frequency change, or a brief pause. We'd rather adjust than have you quit.
Are these safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Many of the actives we use are not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your provider will screen for this during intake and either pause treatment or recommend a safer alternative.
Can I use these alongside my regular skincare?
Usually yes. Your provider will review your current routine during intake and flag anything that should pause or be modified.
Pricing, shipping & cancellation
How much does it cost?
Subscriptions start at $79.00 every 2 months, and one-time purchases start at $98.00. Premium skin aging and body formulas are priced higher. There is no membership fee, consult fee, or charge for intake.
What if my clinician recommends a different formula?
Help Me Decide uses your pre-checkout answers to recommend the closest formula. Your clinician reviews your completed intake and may adjust the medication or strength within the same treatment category. If your clinician recommends a different formula, your price will update — you’ll be charged or refunded the difference.
Do you take insurance?
Barefaced Rx is a cash-pay service. We don't bill insurance directly. Some prescription treatments may be eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement. Eligibility varies; check with your plan administrator.
How does shipping work?
Free shipping on every order. Your formula ships directly from a partner pharmacy with clear instructions for use.
Can I cancel or pause refills?
Yes, anytime. There are no commitments. You can pause refills from your patient portal or message your provider.
